JRobert at Big Cypress National Preserve 40th!

Sometimes called the "Western Everglades" or simply the "Little Sister of the Everglades " - Big Cypress National Preserve celebrates it's 40th year at Swamp Heritage Fest this December 6th.

Representatives of Miccosoukee and Seminole Tribes, National Park Rangers, local tour guides, Marjorie Stoneman Douglas and Everglades restoration promoters, as well as wildlife and conservation foundations are represented this year.

Performing musicians are all Everglades and Big Cypress friends, including Raiford Starke, Boomslang Swamp Singer, Seminole story teller Paul Buster as "Cowbone," Gator Nate ofthe Gladezmen, and JRobert!

The story has been shared by several news agencies, including Laura Tichy-Smith's article for the Coastal Life section of Fort Myers News PressFt. Myers News-Pressand Marco Island'sCoastal Breezewrote great articles!

We're already making plans for the 41st Swamp Fest Celebration December 2015

December Friend - Peter B. Gallagher

The first time I read Peter B. Gallagher's name was on the cover of "Barefoot Man's Typical Tropical Cruisin' Boozin' Songbook!"

Award-winning journalist and freelance writer, Pete was with the St. Petersburg Times Newspaper at the time he wrote the linear notes to Barefoot Man's publication.

Barefoot Man's songs made a big impression on me at the time. 1985 was my first summer playing at Quinn's on the Beach and living in a room at Marriott's Marco Island Resort and Spa, so Pete's narrative gave tons of credibility to the Songbook!

Later that summer, when the Florida Cattlemen's Association gathering took place on Marco Island, Pete showed up at Quinn's as photographer with Native American

Seminole Chief Jim Billie.

Pete has continued working with Chief Jim Bilie all these years, and has collected a fascinating treasure trove of Seminole and Miccosouki photos which he recently presented to the Everglades City Historical Society.

WMNF 88.5 fm- perhaps the nation's strongest public sponsored and independent radio stations - is located in Tampa, Florida, and features Pete Gallagher's "Florida Folk Show" 9 - 10 am every Saturday morning.

The "Florida Folk Show" is the "voice" of every great and up-coming Florida Folk and Americana musician, song writer, and story teller from all around the State.

Along with every show, Peter invites national and international stars to perform live with local artists.

"From his landmark Vanishing Florida column in the St. Petersburg Times to his investigative work that freed migrant farm-worker James Richardson from jail (after being wrongfully convicted for murdering his seven children) to his work exposing the tragedy of Rosewood, the plight of the endangered Florida Panther, and his expose on unethical state government permitting and variance capers that allowed the destruction of the world’s oldest aboriginal canoes (all three nominated for Pultizers; the Richardson expose won the prestigious Robert F. Kennedy Award), he has consistently fought for truth and sanity in Florida environmental and cultural issues."

Florida Folk Show music is alive with the public engagements...tonight in Tampa Bay at Butler's Key West Bar, in the spring at America's oldest running Florida Folk Festival, or occasionally at the Little Bar in Goodland.

Then, Peter is always back atWNNF.orgeach and every Saturday morning 9 - 10 am!

Peter B. Gallagher is one of my most respected friends...and a mighty Friend of Florida!

Need I say more.

Merry Gentlemen

A Million Thanks!

I was happy to perform another Golisano Children's Hospital Sunshine Kids Celebration at La Playa Resort of Naples.

Nice looking poster.

Many of my charity performances are to raise money for various foundations and causes...this show however, was for the recipients.

We had 26 cancer victims, all children, playing on the beach with their parents, brothers, and sisters.

We shared many very emotionally touching moments as families from all walks and strata of society gathered to share the sun, sand, and sea together...

Thank you Robert Keane for your brilliant organizational talents and warm heart.

Please contribute toGolisano Children's Hospital!
